Midwives have a unique and valuable role in upholding natural birth in a highly medicalized time and place. In the United States right now, where 99% of babies are born in the hospital and over 33% via cesarean section, it is all the more incredible to find these special women making the choice available to families who want to giver birth in a different setting and/or with a caregiver who respects this sacred, natural process.
