How does a completely unknown band from Los Angeles arrive so fully formed, delivering a self-titled debut album that sounds uncannily like the great lost work of wild-eyed British rockers like the Verve or Oasis? How does said band conjure up both Bob Dylan and Neil Young in a song called "Different Ways" without setting off riots in the streets? It takes brass, no doubt.
